Z Grip Arm Bar
In practicing this move you should always go slow until you get it right. If practicing with another person please make sure they are around your same height and weight and they agree to let you try this on them. The "Z Grip Arm Bar" is used in jujitsu to secure the arm via cuffing the hand around the bottom triceps. This allows one to achieve greater leverage and a more snug grip on the arm as they transition to the full arm bar.
Keys to remember:
• Lift butt (bridge) to create momentumn as you sit up and secure the arm/tricep.
• As you roll back down to the side elevate the hips on the arm as you swing your leg around the neck and tuck as if you were squeezing the neck behind the knee.
• Keeping the hold tight, use the opposite leg to push under the arm pit as you push your opponent to the ground.
• Secure both arms tightly around the "arm barred" arm and proceed to lay back.
**Note** Lay back slowly when practicing this move, as you don't want to injure your partner!
